For an assignment in my course, we were given the theme 'silence'. We had to look up what 'silence' means to us individually and translate it into still life images.

The fact that I was born in Spain, that I have family there, but was raised in Belgium creates an inner silence. Silence in identity. Silence in belonging. I tried to translate that feeling of not belonging, in the land of your heart, into this series where I photographed objects that bring out that southern side in me. The movement in them is a way of referring to that absent/unattainable feeling.
